Event in Avignon :
Art and care are closely linked in the work of Charlotte His, a multi-talented artist who was originally a contemporary dancer, but who became a paper gluer, sensorially and emotionally, first for her patients, then for herself...
And this encounter with collage intensified when she discovered portraiture: a rather specific creative process that offered her an intimate and certainly restorative face-to-face encounter that she had fundamentally lacked. At first, she chose to reproduce photos of the people she loved: her daughters. Then, instinctively, she turned to Frida Kahlo, the woman artist of the last century, whose life path was one of suffering, like a mirror of her soul...
Flowers become her preferred palette of colors, which she uses, reinventing her own technique each time. A collection of portraits was born, the meaning of which she couldn't explain at the outset, but which she would come to appreciate and support through her encounters with a surprised and appreciative public, notably through the writing of a poetic show entitled "Quelques mots avec elle..." (A few words with her...), which she now performs at her exhibitions.
Since their first release in summer 2021, these original portraits have won acclaim at such renowned salons as the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris, Le Salon International de portraits in Bastille and the Salon des Beaux-Arts in Cormeilles en Parisis, where Charlotte His won the Prix du Public for one and the Prix des "autres techniques" for the other.
