CAR/MEN

After the huge success of his play Tutu, Philippe Lafeuille, director and choreographer who enjoys revisiting the classics, tackles Bizet's masterpiece to create a choreographic UFO combining humor, theater, singing, clowning, object theater and video. CAR/MEN, produced by the 30-year-old company Chicos Mambo, features an all-male cast. With whimsy, tenderness and derision, eight dancers and a virtuoso countertenor, in flouncy dresses, tutus and sometimes briefs, play with masculine and feminine, as the double-entendre title suggests, and reinvent this feminine icon, symbol of freedom. This modern CAR/MEN is sublimated by the fluidity of the bodies and the singer's high-flying lyrical voice, evolving in a whirlwind of colors.
